Forms

Employers will need forms to have employees complete and submit for the paid FMLA leave. The forms should help facilitate the leave and reduce questions. It should have employees certify the leave and explain they must return when the circumstances are removed. Under the current law anyone with a child under 18 can stop working and collect the paid FMLA if they claim a lack of child care. Can employers request proof... more »

Definitions needed

Would like clarification or definitions for "caring" - is this medical care or childcare. If employees have a 16 year who is home due to school closing and is healthy, what type of care would be required for the employee to receive Sick Pay or EFMLEA.

Would like clarification or definition of "individual" - is this limited to immediate family members or does it expand to non-family members (neighbor, friend).

AHCA is preparing a package by looking at what providers usually bill, sending them the whole amount even if the billing... more »

Expanded FMLA

As a small business owner with less than 50 employees we will be forced to close our doors with the expanded FMLA. The options for employees to utilize this are too broad and, should a large number elect to take advantage of the bill (and they will), we will be left without staff to support our mission. With no income, there is no way to make payroll and the cumbersome expectations that a new bill will give us opportunity... more »
