Companies and institutions that have telework capacity should offer full telework option to employees

Institute full telework option- Companies and Institutions that have telework capacity should offer employees the option for full telework. Providing the option for full telework will allow employees to make the best decision for their and family safety. There is no vaccine at this point. As such, requiring telework capable employees to go into the office increases unnecessary risk. Full telework option for companies/institutions... more »

Explore how to Incentivize More Self-Selected Multimillion Salary CEO Paycuts

Incentivize Self-Selected/ opt In Multimillion Salary CEO Pay cuts- I applaud all the top multimillionaire CEOs who have taken pay cuts to keep staff or have donated their salary to charity. We need more multimillionaire CEOs to do the same. One idea is to explore tax incentives for corporations whose multimillion salary CEOs self select/opt into cutting/donating a portion of their salary to sustaining/supporting their... more »

Los Angeles County Department of Workforce Development, Aging and Community Services (WDACS) has developed a strong partnership with one the largest aerospace defense contractors in the world, Northrop Grumman. As a public health nurse, the warning of the COVID-19 pandemic storm has been alerting the citizens of this country that the pandemic is only just beginning to take hold and many additional deaths can be avoided. a Tsunami of Deaths will negatively impact our economic health. There will be a resurgence of COVID-19 and its, so far, 13 mutations in the summer and fall of 2020.... if we re-open, and pretend business as usual,... more »

Invest in Child Care Supply and Demand Mapping

States cannot open effectively without essential services like child care. And families need child care to be able to return to work. To help make the decisions needed around opening child care, policymakers need data. Without quality data, it's impossible to answer key policy questions, make estimates for funding needs, and make the case for access to quality, affordable child care for all. Strong data allows decision-makers... more »

Ensure Child Care can Reopen and Rebuild Safely

Child care plays a pivotal role in supporting children and their families, our greater communities, and the economy at large. Americans overwhelmingly believe that child care is a vital part of our lives and our economy. Child care is essential for so many families to be able to return to work, and their budgets are already being strained because of this virus. We have to ensure that all child care providers are able... more »

Student Loan Forgiveness for Hospitality Workers

The hospitality industry has seen the largest devastation, as a whole, due to the pandemic. Hotels, restaurants, events, venues, travel, and tourism ceased through the mandatory social distancing and quarantine guidelines causing businesses to fail, close, furlough and lay-off employees at large. Marriott as a global company was forced to close 40% of its hotels as just one example. The greater challenge now that the... more »

Child Care is Essential to Economic Recovery

Child care is the backbone of our nation's response to disaster and the road to recovery. Yet programs and providers are in crisis, and their viability—and therefore the viability of our nation's economy—is dependent on substantial, additional, and direct investment from federal and state governments.

Child care is not like the K-12 system in which schools will be able to reopen and educators will be compensated regardless... more »

Too Soon!!

I understand how hard this is for everyone, but there will not be enough protective measures as this virus continues to mutate. Restaurants need to be drive-through and delivery only. People can relax and eat at home.

Schools should not reopen at all!!

Trusting teens to school themselves with no supervision

I believe there should be an executive order that protects ALL school age children. It's one thing to leave a 14 year old home alone for a couple of hours to sit in front of a TV maybe, but it's totally different when they are expected to wake up, stay connected to very distracting digital devices for learning purposes, yet have the discipline to focus on only education for 8-10 hours while parents are away at work. Daycare Issues

Many daycare facilities will not take children if their parents work for an organization that cares for individuals who are COVID-19 positive. We have lost several employees who had to resign because they could not find affordable, alternative daycare. As a public sector employer, we have to care for which we have a statutory obligation (e.g. jails, law enforcement). If an employee has an in-home daycare provider, they... more »
