the additional $600 per weeks stipend added to the employees benefits is hurting our business. Why should someone come to work when they are making almost double what they make at work. In Washington, the min wage is $13.50. the worker can get in the range of $1000 per week on unemployment. I suggest that this be changed to a supplement given to the states to augment the benefits up to 90% of their indexed wages. That way, they are 90% whole on pay and still have the incentive to return to work to get the 100% of wages and possibly overtime. At the same time, the States are not hit so hard by the increase in unemployment during the crises.
